And we will vote in a Commissioner that is clearly under-qualified for the position as there is nobody truly qualified running. I will cast my vote for the person whom I believe will grow into the position quickly and make good solid decisions for the county and not their own pocketbook.

Unfortunately I could not run because I live about 100 yards across an invisible line that puts me in the wrong voting district....

*sigh* The extremely short time period to find and select a replacement for my passed friend is simply not enough time to find the best of the best. I only hope a surprise candidate comes on that I can really stand behind as I did my friend...
 
The vote is county wide, the candidates must live within a specific district. This is so that one portion of the population won't be over-represented even though the election is general rather than district-specific.

Also, regardless of that we are the vacating committee we are the only ones that can vote.
