The cool thing is I was watching Meet The Press and they had a segment on early voting in which they showed the Franklin County precinct I voted at. I thought that was cool.

To anyone keeping score I voted for 8 Democrats and 3 Republicans that I know of. Some of the judicial candidates I didn't know squat about and they didn't list a party affiliation.

3x Republican ..

only 3 on the ballot here ..

I was sooo pleased to FINALLY vote ..

seems like this election has been going for 10 years ..

I had one race with a Democrat vs a Libertarian, and another race with two Republicans (both executive offices - Auditor and Treasurer).

If you were going to vote for a Republican, you should've just stayed home. A Republican is a Republican is a Republican. No one who chooses to attach that brand name to themselves can be trusted.
 
Well I can explain the three Republicans I voted for. Our Congressional rep is a relatively young and plump slime ball. He has a squishy handshake and speaks mostly in GOP talking points and like many career politicians he'd trade his most cherished belief for enough votes to win in a New York minute. Normally I'd disregard him as the slimy little double dealing turd that he is but for the fact that he's very good at bringing home the bacon and constituent service. He's also climbing the ranks in the house and seniority can be very important to a district. Since he is a slimy little turd he should go far.

The other two Republicans I voted for were county treasurer and engineer. I mean let's be honest. Who trusts a liberal treasurer or engineer? I actually know our treasurer Berry. He probably hasn't had a bowel movement in his life and I don't think he's ever said the word "yes" in his life. You'd think he'd have the personality of an unsalted cracker but he's really eccentric and funny as hell. No so our county engineer. He's like Right. If he's smiling you know some small village is being fire bombed somewhere. Having said that he's a PE and a hell of an engineer and he's been managing major municipal projects for years. Besides if I had to do Business with construction contractors I'd be a prick too.

I am shocked by the number of people supporting Trump that I have met. Middle income is what they consider themselves. They live in 500K houses in Columbus OH. They make over 200K a year. They drive sweet cars and have lots of toys. Their kids play lacrosse and soccer and they have all the latest gear: $300 custom stitched Nike shoes with their number and names on them. I think they will only come out of the Closet on Wednsday to vote ..

Though .. I suspect many will leave the Line ..

After seeing it wrapped around the BLOCK with Trump Supporters ..

Welcome to Delaware Co Ohio Cuz. Where earning $100 KPY makes you trailer trash. By Delaware co standards $200 kpy is middle class.

Doesn't suck, does it?

The political divide in our county is different. it's about 55% GOP and 45% Dem. Most the GOP types are small business owners, business executives and managers, etc. Most of the Dems are professional and technical types. Not a lot of blue collar types but most of them are contractors and tend to vote GOP.

Delaware county Ohio has been a bulwark for Ohio Republican politics since Abe Lincoln and Rutherford B. Hayes but it is not monolithically so.
