Well, I thought it was a good speech

So what did JPP liberals think of the democrat party response? Couldn't they find someone other than a 72 year old with no future in politics? I didn't listen to to it either but heard that even left wingers like Rabid Madcow were underwhelmed. To be fair I think the opposition party doing a rebuttal is stupid and both sides should cease and desist. But I am guessing as there are no threads by JPP lefties it was underwhelming

I was cracking up.

The rebuttal is supposed to be some "star making" moment, but more often than not, it turns out to be embarrassing. I think Dems just wanted to go w/ someone they didn't care about.

He kind of lost me at "I'm a Democrat, no I'm a Republican," or whatever he said. And I hate that gimmicky "here I am w/ the folks" stuff.
 
Perez & Ellison actually did a much more informal "rebuttal" on MSNBC, and that one was lights out, imo. They get it.

I'm actually pretty stoked about those 2. They really have a vision & strategy; the Dem party is in much better hands right now that it has been.
 
I did not watch the us gov. program last night; I did not have the energy to expend on it. I expected it would be used to try and calm the tumultuous left and throw them a bone. I had one person I deal with, who has drawn a hitler mustache on that magazine cover of trump [time/ people, whatever] posted on the wall in his office. today this Filipino man had a praise report for trump and the speech. it worked. trump is winning the media brainwashed people. I want to commend the truth detector for his hard work of countering the inane babblings of jpp lefties: it is a dirty job, but someone needs to do it; and I still laugh at the gifs. I also would like to testify about the thingy as an example of humility in repentance. it ain't easy to repent from being wrong. when you are going with the flow and turn 180 degrees, you are then going against the current and the work becomes hard. it is good.

It was weird.

The party of diversity trots an old retired white dude to voice the rebuttal. The only thing I can come up with is the democrats were throwing a bone to the white working class.

Sounds far fetched but nothing else makes any sense.

they aren't talking to the dykes like maddow. They are going for the conservative white democrats that they lost last election. strategically it was a good idea.
