Anthony Weiner says he will take leave of absence, seek ‘treatment’ as scandal grows

Just hours after three leading Democrats called on him to resign, Rep. Anthony Weiner announced he will take a leave of absence from Congress and enter a treatment program.
 
"The decision of all three Democratic leaders to go public with their resignation calls simultaneously is a strong hint that back-channel efforts among party officials to convince Weiner to leave Congress on his own have failed."

12 steps.
1: We admitted we were powerless over our wienerl--that our lives had become unmanageable.
2: Came to believe that a Power greater than our wiener could restore us to sanity.
3: Made a decision to turn our wiener over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4: Made a searching and fearless inventory of ourselves...and tweeted that inventory to numerous people
5: Admitted to our wife, to ourselves and to the entire nation the exact nature of our wrongs.

He's already completed the first 5 steps!

6: Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7: Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9: Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10: Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Well, all joking aside, for the sake of his wife and unborn child I hope he is helped- the biggest obstacle a person like Weiner faces is his arrogance~ I think he should resign- get help and then find a behind the scenes opportunity to help his party if he wishes to stay in politics.

I suppose it's a hard call for him (no pun intended) as people have very short memories. Look at Spitzer. From a disgraced Governor to the host of his own show. People must be watching and the ratings good as the show continues.

I think it hangs (again, no pun intended) on whether he sent pics to underage gals.

Gee, it's difficult to write anything without it being overshadowed by perversion.
