well good brother -and I mean that sincerely -i'm sure you are aware of the 100 days tradition for Congress to defer so i'll not beat that dead horse.That's not "cultish" BTW - most Americans take a "wait and see".

Obviously you're not paying attention. Most Americans have already made up their minds about Trump .. and they reject him and his cult followers.

The popular vote thing is a weak argument -if it were about the popular votes
it could be argued the candidates would have changed their strategies.

But I do get the "rejection" -the only reason i tuned into Trump to begin with was to thwart the corrupt warmonger
the Dem's nominated -why I supported both Sanders and Trump at different times.
I wound up buying into his federalism,as well as MAGA.

Do what you gotta do. I've known you long enough to be confident you are taking a principled stand,
unlike a lot of the partisans who are only in for pure political obstruction.

Consider your rejection of Hillary Clinton blown up ten-fold. That's how much a great many Americans hate and reject Trump and his followers .. and, after 8 years of Obama-hate, Trump supporters don't have a leg to stand on to claim that Trump shouldn't be treated this way.

how do you figure that when there were less than 4 million votes individually for hillary over trump? how is that a 'great many Americans' in your mind?

Because 4 million sounds like a lot lol?

In relative terms, Hillary's margin of victory in the popular vote was pretty slim. It was only notable by comparison to other, equally slim, margins in other elections. It's actually kind of interesting how the margin manages to stay so close to a 50/50 split.

At any rate, the counter inauguration will be attended by the usual assortment of disaffected lefties and anarchists. Then it will blow over and that will be that.

the difference -and I had thought this out- would have been I woudn't try to hobble her as POTUS without actionable reasons

There were 8 years of Bush hate, unprecedented hate. As always, the Communist left is the engineer of the vicious cycle.

This time, they lost. And all the crying, whining and gnashing of teeth will not make a bit of difference.
