Have you seen any evidence the magas have cut funding to the CIA or NSA? I have not heard this - neither have I heard that the Knesset has cut funding to Mossad. I don't think the people of Israel would stand for that.

Whatever. Funding increases every year - it's both political and actual suicide not to.
I see two problems with how Congress funds both the military and intelligence services: they like pork and they like high tech gear because it produces higher paying jobs and profits for those with the manufacturing plants.
While I fully support modern weaponry and satellite tech, both of which are very expensive, I do not support it when it comes at the cost of training training and human intelligence assets on the ground.
Example, while the B-2 was a strategic asset under MAD, this was a $2 Billion crash:
$2B is a lot of M-16s and ammunition. It's also 20,000 human intelligence agents making $100K for a year. In short, it's not just the amount of money, but how it's spent.
Consider how Putin fucked over the Russian Army by putting the money in his and his oligarch's pockets.
