If the agents of our governments can break in your front door and search your home, with or without a warrant, and be exonerated by other branches of that government, then you are not free.
If the agents of our government can detain you or a family member, hold you without access to a lawyer, or even charge you for an indefinite amount of time to their liking, you are not free.
If you can be shot and killed by agents of your government, who will summarily be exonerated unless there is unconfiscated video that is publicly released, you are not free.
