We lost the first war on drugs.

The Ronald Reagan war on drugs was a failure, we lost.

It cost billions and did not decrease drug trafficking into or within the United States. Why is TACO starting a new one? The same reason Reagan did, its popular with a certain demographic, it helps promote fear and it likely gives him power.

No.....it is nothing but the excuse for aggression against other countries ...both military and economic.

There's yuge business in it. Not to mention numerous jobs.

you can't force a social safety net on the populace and still allow drug proliferation.

without personal responsibility, you don't get personal freedom.

how is your war on poverty working out? you ready to give that up as well?

It showed we cannot use police power to end the drug problem. Interdiction is a savage waste of money. The profits are enormous on drugs, and someone will supply them. How many cartels have we taken down, and the drug problem is still here? We pay billions to jail users and pushers. It does not work.
We have to deal with the demand. That requires lots of good rehab centers. It needs better education for kids.
Junkies in America cannot make enough money to feed their habit. So they commit crimes. A smaller crime problem and fewer people in jail is a bonus.
You would be shocked to find out how many very wealthy people have their fingers in the drug trade. How many police have been corrupted?
What we have done has failed.

So the war on poverty began in 1964

people are more poor now. Will Democrats admit it is a failure and turn away from this war?

yes... but also to feed the Magats the circuses they crave seeing.

While what you say is true and this is an extension of the prior generations 'oil and resource based interventionist wars' where ONLY countries with vast oil or other resources the US wanted to ultimately have some control over suddenly rose to the level where the US military needed to step in, while other nations, doing worse, were ignored as they did not have the level of resources, ...we also need to remember that Magats thrive on cruelty and immoral actions.

If Trump could give them migrants forced to fight in a colosseum in new gladiator battles the magats would clap like seals for it.

Remember one of the core planks of Make America Great Again was to stop leading or participating in interventionist foreign wars or conflicts and now John Bolton has been on interview news shows saying he fully supports Trumps actions here and in Africa and thinks the US needs to do more.

He is saying this AFTER Trump had him charged as John can over look that to see his life work of making Neocons Great Again make a rebound.
