"We keep marrying other species and ethnics " - Fox News Host

Wasn't there some mandate from God following the destruction of the Tower of Babel? I know this is supposedly when God cast men to "the four corners" and gave them different "tongues" and I thought there was something about not mixing races from that.

In any event, I am not a Bible scholar, so I am inadequate to debate the issue on a theocratic level, but I do know that God (as I understand from the Bible) sees all men as equal in His eye, so there is no "race" from that perspective. There are lots of things in the Old Testament that mankind abandoned after the New Testament. In my opinion, religious beliefs opposed to interracial marriage are supporting an Old Testament practice which became obsolete with the advent of the NT. ...BUT... that is MY opinion on the matter, I don't speak for everyone.

That's a rational specificity since 95% of Mormons do not support or believe in polygamy.

still a religious sect. And a vailid example.

do we let muslims do all their religion tells them to do?

The pot smoking religion of the islands?

Snake handling in religious services is illegal.

I win Dixie faliz yet again.

Honest Dixie, there was no OT mandate about mixing the races over ethnicity, but rather over faith. At that time the peopels were all divided up as "tribes". To belong to various tribes indicated differing so called "gods". The God of Israel demanded a purity of the faith, not the color of a mans skin for the tribe of Israel. Anyone claiming a biblical mandate about racial purity is perverting scripture.

Well you've torn off in an anti-religion rant for some reason. Maybe you should go back and actually READ the thread, and then respond. There is no "religious" argument going on here... I would love for someone intimately familiar with the Bible to join in and discuss the aspects of why the Bible teaches against intermarriage, because I happen to disagree with that teaching, but we don't have anyone like that around here, you anti-religious nitwits ran them off long ago.

BTW... have you ever seen the conditions lambs are raised in before slaughter? It's pretty effing inhumane, to say the least. I'm not sure I'd be bragging too much about the President having lamb.... especially while the rest of us are eating hamburger helper. But that's just me.... you go ahead and brag all you like, hear?

Hey, a guy is allowed to have a decent meal once in a while. Besides, I don't eat meat every day.

there was nothing in the bible about interracial marriage.....

Yeah, quite pinhead. The Constitution says what it says, and it means what it means. Read what I said, you are giving an example where the "human rights" of another person is in play, and that is a Constitutional right which trumps the right to freely exercise religion, so it is an irrelevant example... or a strawman.

Ahh, so now kids have Constitutional rights, huh? I bet a lot of kids can't wait to tell their teacher exactly what they think

??...did you think they didn't?.....what age did you think those kicked in?.....

typically 18. Try and exercise your right to travel prior to that and you will find your picture on a milk carton and if caught hauled back home.

When do you get to vote?

When can you marry?

etc.

:lmao: Yeah, of course you win when Dixie has made some outrageously bizarre statement he never posted! In that aspect, fuck yeah... you stomped my ass!! But the thing is, what you are "winning" is a debate with yourself, idiot.

I never said that religious beliefs trumped the law of the land. I think it is pretty fucking apparent to all but the profoundly retarded, that the laws of the land supersede religious practices. I fail to see what your point was in constructing such a convoluted argument, but I have never said anything near the same ballpark as what you apparently think you read. Do you see people burning goats at the altar? PETA would have a cow... pardon the pun! Do we see virgins being tossed into volcanoes? Religious practices have to conform to the laws of the land, and in the case of fundamentalist Mormons who practice polygamy, they do so at the risk or persecution for their faith, I guess. I can't explain that, it doesn't matter in this debate about racism and being religiously opposed to interracial marriage. Perhaps if the law of the land said you HAD to marry outside your race, you might have some kind of valid comparison to make here, but as it stands, you just displayed your own idiocy.

You said that the consititution gave the right to practice your religion.

I said a right to believe what you wanted but not to practice.

Squirm wurm.
