We haven't heard much about the War on Christmas this year....

Maybe it's time to change that... We need a good War on Christmas thread.

Last year Walmart had a Hannukah page, a Kwanzaa page, but neglected to offer a Christmas page... I wonder if they plan on that again. We need something to get the fire burning...

:D
How about starting a rumor that Jesus was Joo!

So it is only about christians? What a christian idea you have there.

I do hope you realize the christians stole the holiday in order to convert more pagans?

And if someone says "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", does that really do you any harm or effect your own celebration in any way?

Actually, if there is a war on traditional Christian American culture it is a defensive one. Its just that the "christian" rightwingers want it to go back to the way it was when christianity was the de facto ruling religion. It the last few decades people woke up and realized they didn't have to be browbeaten by religious nutjobs anymore. They realized that "It says it in the Bible" was no longer a rational basis for laws. They realized that, according to the US Constitution, all faiths (and those with no faith) have equal rights. But thats gotta suck for those who want their beliefs to be hailed as true and everyone else as heathens. lol

Of course it doesn't bother me if people say "Happy Holidays" and you know it. You also know that there is pressure put on some mechant employees and govt emplolyees to not use the word "Christamas". That's what it's all about. It's the forcing or pressuring people. That's what we don't like. All of you just knock it off. The tree is a "Christmas Tree" and the holiday is Christmas. Live with it.

Pretty much the point, don't care which denomination you are Dec 25 is christmas, whether you believe in christ or not

As a side point pagan things that got tacked on weren't only to convert the pagans, quite a bit of it was just the experimentation of the religion itself trying to find its' shape, laws and customs

The business owner has his employees do what he thinks will make the most money.

Cant argue with that. But you dont have a soul eather.no body does. Its just a fairy tail. As to your childhood I can only guess.

You see, this is where I have a great of difficulty with being a true atheist. To believe that we are simply a biological organism, with nothing any deeper than chemical reactions, is sad. If you can hold your newborn child, watch the sun rise over the mountains, hear children laughing, or even be moved by a beautiful piece of music, and still truly believe we are nothing more than an organic machine, you have my sympathy. If you can find your true love, look in her eyes, and still believe that what you feel is only a chemical reaction to perpetuate the species, you have missed out.

Hey, I've got some really good weed I grew myself. All ya need is two hits and you have this urge to get naked and go wandering bare.

No, not really because the chemistry allows me to enjoy, and be in awe of all that surrounds me. It is my very humanness and the way the human body functions that allows me to look into my husbands eyes and feel the love. I don't require a supernatural deity to enjoy the wonders of life!

Funny to watch the lefties mock and deny there is a war on Christmas. Hell, there is a war on traditional Christian American culture and there has been for a while. They're stupid if they think by mocking it we are just gonna ignore it.

This sentiment is ALMOST as stupid as hearing White Men whine about how hard it is to be a white man.

Interesting mindset. Very revealing and disappointing. I thought you had more going for you than resorting to the race card, besides being totally off the topic. Just goes to show how distorted first impressions can be.

Looks like Santa has wanderingbear on the "naughty" list.

This reminded me of what a friend of my daughter's five year old son replied to her when she told him, "No" about something, "I'm going to tell Santa to put you on the 'naughty list' in permanent marker!" :whoa:
