Not according to James Madison who wrote the Constitution. He says their job is to do what is in the best interest of the country.
In reality, members of Congress can't really know what their constituents want.
The voters are supposed to vote for what’s in the best interest of the country.

No, I consider the Left what it has always been. Those totalitarians that want socialism, communism, who are intolerant of any opposed ideas to their own, who deny science, facts, and reason when it doesn't fit their dogma.
A good example right now is the greentard environmental movement.

Well, banning ones that are full of bullshit like The 1619 Project being used as a history text when it's fiction, or science and math books that are more about social equity than STEM should happen. Why would anyone want books in our schools filled with lies, non-educational material, and nonsense?
Like? On the other hand, the Democrats and Left want election fraud laws put in place like HR 1 the "For the Voters Act" or SR 1 the equally terrible "John Lewis Voter's Act."
Why should anyone blindly accept bad science, and non-scientific garbage? Do you, for example, think that Gorebal Warming is primarily man caused? Pulling out Confederate statues that represent the desire to enslave people and attacking our electoral system, are two very different things. Very different.
