We Don't Mine Enough Rare Earth Metals to Replace Fossil Fuels

Yes, they reopened the Mountain Pass mine in California and upgraded the extraction plant with new equipment. The Chinese then flooded the market and killed off their business. Very bloody short sighted, the Chinese are attempting to do the same thing with cobalt and vanadium. You should read up about vanadium redox batteries.

She's sick, Tom. Sick in the head.

The Chinese are there, they are especially interested in the copper reserves. Actually the US has been in Afghanistan since the 50s.

Yes I know.. I posted thread called Baluchistan: the prize several years ago. Its been a matter of waiting for market demand.. Now they have port Gwadar as a rail and pipeline hub to Asia so it all opens up for oil and gas and mining from Afghanistan and Pakistan.. and obviously the Chinese share a long border with Afghanistan .. They are neighbors long after the US is gone.

So there you go, the Chinese control the rare earths market, and are busily doing the same with cobalt and vanadium. Katgutz moans because the West wants new sources of RREs and tries to concoct another conspiracy theory. Listen to arseholes like him and China will control virtually everything.

there is no reason to think that the way things are configured today are the way they will be configured in 5 or 10 years. There is a tremendous amount of research going on in using other types of components. The only things certain in life is change. I would also point out that nobody is saying that the World will completely convert to either solar or wind. The only thing worth pointing out in this thread is that you are a drug-addled moron.

Industry world wide spends billions to deal with persistent organic pollutants that's what makes this recycling technology so terrific not to mention profitable.

Its important because of the Stockholm Convention.

Shut the fuck up, dozy cunt!! You don't have a clue but are far too stupid to just shut up and say nothing.

Saudi Arabia Rare Earth Metals News Monitoring Service ...

Just when you think the US couldn't display more gall, they do something like this ... U.S. Companies are planning on taking a larger role in extracting Afghanistan’s enormous reserves of valuable rare earth minerals, Reuters reported after U.S. President Donald Trump met with his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani on Thursday.

Afghanistan to be the 'Saudi Arabia of Lithium?': US ...

Afghanistan has some of the world's largest un-extracted reserves of rare earth minerals valuable in electronic production, such as lithium, as well as gold and various gemstones. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates the total value at at least US$1 trillion.

I can't imagine that negotiations with the Taliban are going to result in American profiteering.
Isn't there some other country without a resistance that can be plundered ?
