We did not GIVE the Canal to Panama. Idiots.

Doesn't matter whether we "gave" it to them or not.

Remember the last fuck stick from panama who got chesty with us?

How about I tell you that we sold it for $1??

Don't believe me?

"On September 7, 1977, US President Jimmy Carter signed the Torrijos-Carter Treaty setting in motion the process of transferring control of the canal to Panama for a nominal fee of $1."

So we did not simply cease renting it. We sold it.
They gave the US $1 and we turned over control of the Panama Canal. Your attempt to say different is hilarious.
If money was exchanged for property, it was bought/sold. The fact that it was bought for a nominal fee is irrelevant.

Agreed.

Obviously you can't. Your premise doesn't even make any sense. The canal was completed in 1907, therefore, the supposed hundred year lease would have run out in 2007. Yet Jimmy Carter signed the canal over to Panama in 1977.
The 1979 treaty (and the 1999 treaty that followed) allows the United States to use it's military to maintain the neutrality of the Canal, including removing Panama from control of the Canal if necessary.

Panama is currently in violation of both treaties.
The locks are not being properly maintained either, putting shipping at risk.
