Many got complacent, for the reason you cited. But everyone was warned when the race got closer. The Supreme Court was at stake. Hundreds of Fed judicial appointments were at stake. ACA was at stake. The list goes on.

With regards to your post, we are at war good sister. No time for baby steps, and given the seriousness of where we are today, obviously baby steps didn't work. The cops are not going to stop arresting black men and they are not going to stop protecting themselves or putting their own personal safety ahead of some irrational call to start being kinder and gentler to thugs who would kill them in a split second if given the opportunity.

What is more likely to happen IMO, is that the qualified applicants for police academies in general is going to start dropping. How low is anyone's guess. Hence, the police are going to have to start hiring whoever they can. So if you think it's bad now, just wait until they have to start taking dropouts and GED "graduates".

When that happens, don't forget to thank the people who turned the danger associated with the job of police officer to coming from not only the criminals, but from the criminal sympathizers and the courts who prosecute them for doing their jobs.

And let's not lose sight of the fact that these cops are not just out riding around looking for blacks to wantonly murder.

I lost her 1 1/2 years ago in a house fire. Given your relationship with your dogs, I'm sure you can appreciate the loss. I'm a 'brother', as it were. .And we got THIS govt. because enough people wanted free college or nothing. No compromise. No baby steps. Screw Democrats, they don't care about us because they won't give us everything overnight. Well, what occurred after the last vote was the govt. you now can't stand. I hope everyone's conscience is clear, and they should shut the fuck up about what trump has wrought. We're both old enough to remember Clinton's crime bill. What most ignore is that the black community leaders thanked Clinton for signing it. Crack was responsible for dead black kids in the streets every morning. Three administrations attempted to find a fix, without success. We all do this. And we all have to live by our convictions. Taking a stand in '16 brought us this govt.. Granted, nobody thought Clinton would lose. Still...we're here for a reason. Convictions are expensive. Will anyone step up and put their convictions aside long enough to end this mess?
