High inflation locked in as major campaign headwind for Dems: 'Motivating issue'

Inflation generates rent increases in cities riddled by crime
Newsweek deputy opinion editor Batya Ungar-Sargon joins 'The Evening Edit' to discuss President Biden's California visit, rent increases in high-crime cities and Ohio's tight Senate race.
Thursday's inflation numbers said consumer prices rose faster than expected in September, and the inflation rate remained near 40-year highs, likely cementing voter worries about the state of the economy as they head to the polls in November.

It was the last report on consumer inflation voters will see before they vote Nov. 8, and election watchers said inflation seems likely to be a major issue for voters, even as other issues like abortion and democracy compete for their attention.

"It's the kind of thing that impacts everyone at every level of our social status and economic status," Matt Germer, a resident elections fellow for the libertarian R Street Institute, told Fox News Digital.

"We all buy groceries, we buy gasoline, we pay our utility bills. And when those are going up month after month, it's putting budgets under pressure. And that's the kind of thing that motivates people in November."

Apparently, Democrats do not. They think everything is awesome! :palm:

The recession is worldwide, not just in the US. The world economy is cyclical. Why didn't trump's tax cuts fix the economy? They're still in effect. I guess the "payday" rich people and corporations got the last 4 years didn't "trickle down". An American president can't be held responsible for the world's woes, but Republicans are stupid.

BUT TRUMP! STFU you simple minded mental case. Under Trump, you never had it so good. Moron. :palm:

What % of american drivers have an EV? My bet? under 2 or 3 % but I could be off a percent or 2.

You really think that's a valid argument? EV is new technology. Do your homework.

What Percentage of New Car Sales are Electric?
The sharp increase in electric-vehicle registrations at the start of 2022 meant that the EV share of the overall market in the U.S. hit a historic 4.6 percent. While places like Norway—where over 86 percent of all new vehicle sales were electric in March—may laugh at that number, EV advocates know that change happens slowly, then all at once, or something like that.

Currently, it's estimated that around 1 percent of the 250 million cars, SUVs, and light-duty trucks on American roads are electric. However, while it's difficult to estimate future sales, an analysis by IHS Markit projects that 25–30 percent of new car sales could be electric by 2030 and then 40–45 percent by 2035. Using the rates for those projections, Reuters estimates that by 2050 more than half of the vehicles on U.S. roads could be EVs.

Why do you even bother to respond to me anymore, douchebag? No one cares what you think. All you have are slogans you copied from Tucker. You don't even know what he means, because you're so learning impaired.

You are worse than useless.

The national average for a house is now just shy of $400,000. Mortgage rates have gone over 6%. That happened in less than the last two years by the way. The "American Dream" is vanishing PDQ and guess who's fault that is...

Mortgage rates at 6%? Not bad. I'll take it.
Rates were around 11% when I bought my first home 40 years ago. In 1963, my father bought our home with a 5% mortgage. They were brought down artificially low after the Bush Jr Mortgage Crisis and Recession in 2008-9. Now, they're typically where they should be.
Now, Investors can get a decent return on bonds, Savings Accounts and other fixed instruments. That's good for all Americans.

Nice try with the deceptive post. Your surrender is accepted.

Agree. Its awful. This is what the left has brought us.
Explain, again how it’s the “left’s fault”

COVID?, China shutting down? Russia invading Ukraine? Remember, Trump gave out stimulus money, too, before you claim that’s what caused inflation.

Bullshit! Biden started this on day 1 with EO 13990.

I may have lost my old OS with all the bookmarks, but I did NOT lose all the things I learned.

"Executive Order 13990 of January 20, 2021"

Science To Tackle the Climate Crisis"

Sections 6 and 7 are quite relevant. There's other insanity in there as well.

I dare you to read it and see what the shitbag-in-chief has done.

Apparently you didn't know. :dunno:

The really insane and dangerous section is 5, Accounting for the Benefits of Reducing Climate Pollution

This quite literally lets the government make up data to suit their narrative.

Motivates them to do what?

Have you heard any Republican plan to slash worldwide inflation?

Exactly. As people complain about high costs for necessities, corporations are reaping record profits.

Do Republicans want the govt. to step in and tax these corporations for windfall profits?

What do you believe would slow/cut inflation?

Much of it is the price of oil. Why did American oil producers refuse to increase production? Is Wall St. worse than OPEC?

Vote against the fucktardation policies that hurt everyone that are coming from Democrats, you fucking pinhead dumbass!

Try not being against American oil and food production for one.

Democrats will learn a thing or 2 about America this November.. or not. Nobody ever said learning was their strong suit.

They usually just double down on the stupid. I don't expect this time to be any different.

I rarely do any grocery shopping other than a quick in and out for a couple things. I hate it,...my wife loves it, takes her forever because she sees people she knows and chit chats. LOL Anyway,....I went yesterday and did a little more than my usual. I was frikkin FLOORED at some of the prices. The bacon was eye popping for one. Not a good situation. Those at lower income levels must be REALLY suffering. And even if you do earn a good living its still not good because who the hell wants to pay MORE? Nobody.
Because you admit to knowing nothing about shopping, you will pay more than intelligent shoppers. (Myself)

There are items that you use on a regular basis. When you go shopping, you should shop the weekly specials and stock up. You don't buy bacon (nobody should eat bacon anyway) and complain about the price. You buy it when it goes on sale, and fill your freezer.

I'm paying $.99/lb for chicken, and not a penny more. White meat or dark. I have a freezer full of both.

If I wanted to be a fellow ignorant shopper, I could pay $2.49 a pound and then cry about it on a message board.

But I don't. 4 times a year our local store runs rib roasts for $4.99/lb. I stock up. You can pay that much for bottom round if you like, but I'd rather eat like a king.

I understand that some areas don't have the competition between grocery chains. That's gotta suck, but those regions always paid more for food.

This post is nothing but wing nut word salad. Why didn't trump's tax cuts save our economy, trumpist?

I wish one of the "things you learned" included how to communicate, using English.
