I memorized all the U.S. Presidents when I was in third grade, but I learned them on my own using encyclopedias that my grandparents gave me.I know! You might even say it's how I got into politics in the first place, haha. I read about each of the presidents in their encyclopedia profile, and would just go from one to the next, and it would be bedtime, and I would tell myself, "okay just one more and then I'll go to bed". There's just something addicting about encyclopedias when you're a kid and you get started on one. Now, I use Wikipedia, but it never seems as "official", lol.I loved our encyclopedia at home, too. In grade school I used to love just pulling out a volume at random and flip through to find interesting stuff to read.
