Dozy fucker, the Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales aircraft carriers are being built on Clydeside, plus nuclear submarines in Barrow and various Royal Navy vessels around the UK. There is also a very healthy ship repair industry.

if it goes down for an extended period of time sure. Incidentally it would be very good for tourism too. Which would be good for scotland and other poorer areas. The Japanese and Chinese and I think even the US have currencies weaker than the pound sterling and it is ok.

Btw it is also good for new manufacturing since if someone invests from abroad it is cheaper to do so.

One thing I like that is not strictly a benefit is it makes it harder for the rich to invest abroad because the value of money is lower so they will be more incentivized to invest at home :)
