Washington Ice Storm of 2012

Airstrip One

Completely Effed
So, we got some record snowfall yesterday, which, among other things, shut down nearly all of the activity on McChord Field and Ft. Lewis, minus a few critical areas, such as my unit operations. Today, Western Washington is reeling from the aftermath - our worst ice storm since 1996. Lots of power outages and downed branches, even more hazardous road conditions than yesterday, etc. On top of that, Seatac International Airport closed down today!!

We seem to have kicked off 2012 in grand fashion, for a year that is supposed to bring about the end of the world.

Read where the globe cooled last year, Gaylord scientist are already tripping over each other to declare its not a trend.

About 3" of snow yesterday...made some money plowing. Now, to spend 2 hours washing the salt off my F-350.

I am starting to think that plowing with a nice old truck wasn't as good an idea as it sounded when I bought said truck. :(

I didn't mind the snow. My roommates and I made one trip to the store to buy pizza, cigarettes, and beer, after which we went on a three-day coding marathon. We also went through four packs of cigs. Best week ever!
