Was Trump being sarcastic?

While his supporters twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend the comment, Trump is telling a completely different story - that he was just being sarcastic.

Everyone has seen the clip at this point. Was that sarcasm?

No, he was obviously fucking clueless. That's Trump; he just speaks whatever pops into his brain. Now the entire planet knows he's a fucking moron.

Putin and Xi are laughing their asses off and the leaders of the Free World are just shaking their heads.

3+ billion years to develop the ability to reason and discern, and Trump manages to remove that from half the population in a single election cycle.

Disagreed. The alternative was Hillary. The US got the better deal with Trump....which goes to prove how fucked up the 2016 election was with the nation's two most deplorable people running for President.

Now the Democrats have run a nice old man with dementia. WTF is wrong with the nation's two leading political parties? Time for a change?

Well, that's a whole different topic - but I agree. For starters, our political process attracts the wrong kind of personality. It almost demands narcissists and the overly ambitious. If you're smart, you do NOT run for President. Who in their right mind wants to go through that? We have failed w/ the process.

Beyond that, and people hate it when I say this - elections simply don't work, at least at the Presidential level. Most Americans - myself included - do not understand all of the nuances of foreign policy, economics, education, the environment, et al. One of our biggest considerations when casting a vote is "who would you rather have a beer with?" Do we really expect to get the best person who can handle a pandemic, or other major crisis?

It's all a fail. We need to go back & re-think this whole thing.

That's a fair answer.

For me, it's just one of a long line of irresponsible comments he has made. He should just 'fess up to it, though - he could easily address it like you just did. He doesn't have to try to spin it as sarcasm. He's really calling all of us pretty stupid when he does that.
you are obsessed.
Just vote Biden and STFU with the same shit post after post that you think he's (whateverthefuck)
and save us from reading your sameness drivel

Agreed about "wrong" personalities.

The system does work, but it's not perfect. The Electoral College system works, but it too is flawed.

Good luck getting 38 states to agree on how to fix it. :)

LOL - one of the Park Avenuers doesn't like hearing about it.

Just don't read or post on the thread, Parky.

Yeah, I know. It's likely not going to change. It's actually probably more likely to get worse (that's the trend, anyway - w/ a few exceptions, our choices ever 4 years have genuinely declined in quality over time)…

Hard to say. What I do know is this: As a group, people won't change until they have to change. There are watershed moments in history where we can see a group of people change course. Our own nation changed course after the Revolution, the Civil War and WWII. It changed after 9/11 and it will change post-COVID-19.

Trump is a symptom, not a cause. It's the American people who elected him (and also ran Hillary) Politics will change because, after this crisis is over, and we bury our parents, our loved ones and our friends, millions of Americans will be asking their elected leaders at every level of government "WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING? WHY WEREN'T WE PREPARED????"

The years that follow, like the years that followed Vietnam and Watergate, will see our nation alter its present course to address the problems that cost the lives of so many Americans.

Because he never owns up to anything which is quite obvious. But why would being "sarcastic" even be an appropriate approach and demeanor when discussing a pandemic which has killed over 50,000 Americans? :wall:

It wouldn't to a sane, honest person. Trump is just covering up for being a dumbass.

No, I believe he was basically thinking out loud. Definitely not his greatest moment, but hardly the end of the world either. If libs were honest, they would question 90% of Dementia Joe's comments, but they never do. Instead they lie and blow Trump's comments way out of proportion.

Thinking? :rofl2:

Trump doesn't know the meaning of ' sarcasm '. He has just been schooled into claiming that he was expressing what is known as ' the lowest form of wit '.

I think this just may epitomize today's democrat.

wtf is a "park avenuers" - you come up with the weirdest crap
I could give a shit what you post but it's the same old tired out dirge. say something new for once
Your objection is you don't like the way Trump talks/ BFD. tough shit -get used to it, or turn him off

No doubt he's a laughingstock among world leaders.
but they respect him because he uses economc nationalism.
That has gotten us:

* Mexico to police it's border with the US (unheard of) /stopping the caravans
* a new NAFTA (USMCA)
*phase 1 trade agreement w/China
*new trade agreement with India/Japan and a few more i forgot
*NATO up payments from Europe

and before COVID the world best economy so far.

So what do you freaks obsess over instead? Trumps language!
