Was McCain the last American conservative?

That was part of it. Hillary conspired with her media buddies to push Trump stories and affect the republican nomination. It was revealed along with the debate question collusion also. I think it was podesta's email account that got phished and led to those revalations.
Hillary and the media meddled with the election. Does this bother you?
I should add that it doesn't really bother me. And neither does Russian meddling

Yep, that bothered me, as well as the DNC conspiring to push Sanders out. That being said, the Russians fucking around in our stuff bothers me more than even that.

Why? I would expect Russians to care little about our election and the fairness of our process. I'm far more disappointed in Americans that treat it that way

It's more like the conservative base wants their leader to be reliable to conservative values... Drone-like obedience to their vision. But it's a mystery how they tolerate Trump, who is 180 degrees from such a candidate. Trump won because people will vote for a brand name. That's it as far as I can tell. They knew who he was. If you ran Pat Sajack, they would have voted for him. Alex Trebec would have destroyed the competition.

on the flipside clinton was as big a brand name as trump. Its not like she was Obama that just popped into the scene.

I'll admit that I might not have a clear understanding of what populist means. What's your definition?
We have zero faith in the ability of Congress and the bureaucrats to get anything done - hence we want to take the power into our populist (peoples) hands and reshuffle the deck

national 3rd partys are a waste of effort, reforming the duopoly is a delusion we can get the elites to reform themselves

Voting in Trump was a radical move. In chess it would be called a 'forced move'. There was no other option at hand.
we are desperate to get our economic house in order and unleash the economy so as not to cede the future to China

bump my own post. I though this was a decent description
