IMO, "woke" is militant civil rights.....which was very strong 60 years ago during the Sixties.

I guess you could say that ... although the 60's had more definite, declared and clarified agenda. IMHO, the problem with the current "civil rights activists" is that they are so damned intent on showing everyone how clever and cute they are, they screw-up and give their opponents serious fodder like this whole "woke" stuff.
