You make an assertion that Long War is a total fail - yet will not look at what happened in Yemen regardless of long war.
You would leave Waziristan /AfPak to fester and create conditions for another 9-11.

But mostly you fail to see the west didn't want this war.

The overthrow of Saddam provided a battleground for al-Qaeda to rise up as AQIS ( al-Qaeda in Iraq and Syria).

The split between Zawahiri ( AQ) and ISIS ( Baghdadi) is one of strategy -
but the religious underpinning remains the same.

Hint:
why was Sadat assassinated by the Muslim Brotherhood? Because Sadat was seen as corrupted by the west.

So? ... the Orwellian Socialists have altered the meaning of many words in our language to the point that the new meanings have become accepted parts of communication.

For instance, "liberal" used to mean "free man" as in "free from gov't". Now it means total dependence on gov't ... as in Socialist or Monarchist.
