Left leaning or not, there are a lot of facts in those links. Regardless if Trump is a racist old man or not, I think most of us can agree he favors Green over all other colors.

It depends how they are taken in context. For example, Was he right about illegal Mexicans coming into the is country that are rapists, murderers, etc? You fucking right he was. And it still occurs. That is not a racist remark. Just truth.

Agreed on the need for context. It's also a matter of verbiage. It's one thing to say "I support the national security of the United States". It's another thing to say "we need to stop those dirty Mexicans at the border!!!"

It's one thing to say "Every nation has a right to protect itself, including against terrorism". It's another thing to say "Those dirty Muslims are menace and must be stopped!"

Those aren't verbatim, but the rhetoric was similar. TBH, I think Trump is such a drama queen attention whore that he would say anything to get attention. Is there any doubt his staunchest fans are racists? Why? Because Trump loves to throw out red meat to his fans. "Proud Boys. Stand back and stand by!" was just one of those treats.

So, is Trump racist or does he just feed racists for self-gratification?

Come on now Dutch. The Muslim ban was from known terrorist nations with real terrorist actions going on. He did not ban every Muslim from every Muslim nation. That was a national security issue.That is what I mean. Just about everything the left or the media has tried to pin on Trump as "racist" was not. Now Biden on the other hand just comes out with racist statements all the time.

Again, context. Why did Trump have to rewrite his Muslim ban before it passed Constitutional muster?

Agreed on LW racism, much of it institutionalized. I was watching a few different news programs and began wondering if Kamala Harris was getting tired of being constantly reminded that she's the "first woman of color" to be Vice President over just "the first woman"?

I think that's the point; the ban was on poor Muslim nations, not rich ones. ;)

What they do with their personal politics is their countries problem. That is what happens when you basically have a dictatorship ( or one party rule). I care when it affects the U.S. and that goes for every country.

It just so happens though Dutch those poorer Muslim nations are the ones that produce the most terrorists. That should be a U.N. issue to resolve.
