You would have thought he would have learned something from the last time he put tariffs on the Chinese we had to bail out the farmers he hurt to the tune of billions of dollars and those tariffs weren't as high as the ones he wants to put on them now.
And with the 20,30, 40 or more % tariffs he says he is going to put on I have NO idea how he thinks the American people are going to afford it , what about the people that are already working two or more jobs and are JUST making it now?
What is going to happen to them?

In Trump's fantasy tariffs will in just a few years lead to an American manufacturing boom as our can do spirit triumphs.

I agree but it is all the damage and pain it is going to cost the AMERICAN people in the mean time .
If we can weather the economic down turn and the possible Recession / depression without millions of people losing everything they own like in the great depression, and with cuts in the safety net system we have now it is going to be really hard for a lot of people.
The MAGA got what they wanted so now they own what ever happens good or bad.
As I have said I hope to hell it works out but I am not so sure it is going to.

Why did Biden leave all the Trump tariffs in place? Why did Biden add more tariffs of his own? Why did Harris say nothing of removing the existing tariffs during her campaign? Why traditionally, was it unions who supported tariffs?
Excellent. We have enuff cheap disposable JUNK in this country as it is. This is a great start. Now people will actually have to buy products that last and do what they should be intended to do and buy healthy food that you actually have to prepare YOURSELF instead of being such lazy unhealthy slobs. For the same reason you say Trump is doing it.
And there were NOT as large as what Trump has said he wants to put on imports.
A 20/30 40 % OR MORE tariff will harm the economy and will drive up costs of just about EVERYTHING we buy putting great harm on lower income workers some working two jobs as it is now and just getting buy.
Then take apart the safety net we have in place now like Trumps people want to do will put even more harm on these low income people.
What do they plan to do about them?
I for one am not looking forward to a deep recession / depression the economists say this could cause.
If it does cause a recession / depression you MAGA wanted it so you will own it.

I am not saying tariffs are totally bad IF they are small ones like the ones Trump put on and Biden kept in place., they can do some good but tariffs of 20, 30 ,40 % or MORE ( 200% in some cases ) are going to do a lot of harm to this country and start trade wars we will not win.
And again many economists say Trumps massive tariffs he says he will put on will cause more harm then good and could put not only this country but the world into a deep recession / depression.

OTOH, based on past results, Donnie is 90% hot air and 100% full of excuses. I doubt he'd be allowed to collapse the economy.

Did you not read my posts in this thread already? Hint they are saying the exact same thing I have said in every other thread on tariffs, I HATE them.
Tariffs are taxes. So I don’t understand how people are ok with the Trump/Biden original tariffs. They retard growth and increase costs.
