I use dried tart cherries as an ingredient in banana bread. My grand kids love it. Kroger has been out of the cherries for weeks so I just bought a 4 pound box from Amazon . Krogers normally sells a 5 ounce bag for $4.59 and Amazon sells a 4 lb box for $22.00 . The Kroger price is 14.68 a pound and the Amazon price is $5.50 a pound. The quality is the same.

I admit that I did the same for my salad dressing. I really don't know the price points, but I simply could not get the stuff, name brand in the bigger size, reliably, from Kroger.

There are three Kroger Stores that are all about equally convenient for me to drive to. The closest one is the only one that is "walkable" for me. The closest one is the least reliable for quality and variety.

Regarding Amazon, they are amazing. Inexpensive, fast, incredible variety and easy returns if needed.

More and more, Amazon is becoming both the convenience and the quality leader in retail.

I still buy most of my stuff at wally but zon is pretty good and more and more i buy stuff there. One big problem with zon though is porch pirates.
