Trump’s Non-Vindication

He may run again, but he won’t win another national election.

The Senate failed Saturday to convict Donald Trump on the single House impeachment article of inciting an insurrection, but the 57-43 vote was no vindication. The statements by Senators who voted to acquit make clear that he escaped conviction mainly—perhaps only—because he is no longer President.

I don’t understand how Lindsey thinks he will. Moderate and non-GQP Republicans won’t vote for him. I thought Lindsey was more politically savvy, but either Trump has dirt on him or he’s not as smart as I thought.

rignt wingers are authoritarians so REQUIRE a strong man figure to unite them....like with Reagan, GWB, Trump

but if they're going to rely on nutjobs like Hawley, Cruz, Rubio, Ms Lindsay etc, good luck with that!

It is up to the Democratic Party to stop being a corporate party and actually represent the people. Biden will be a test case.

"Mr. Trump may run again, but he won’t win another national election. He lost re-election before the events of Jan. 6, and as President his job approval never rose above 50%. He may go on a revenge campaign tour, or run as a third-party candidate, but all he will accomplish is to divide the center-right and elect Democrats. The GOP’s defeats in the two Jan. 5 Georgia Senate races proved that.

"The country is moving past the Trump Presidency, and the GOP will remain in the wilderness until it does too."

Trump is finished. Let the GOP stand by him. Trump will be criminally prosecuted.

& what will be so funny, in a sad kinda way, will be the "many" in the gop helping him destroy their party..........

They had their chance to get rid of him but they choose, or rather lacked the sack to standUP to him & put him in his place~now they are going to regret it..

I could say I feel sorry for them, but why lie about it, they got it coming & trump will see that they get it~turn their own rabble on them & pull off the veil/charade that is the gop today

The gop feared to cross him so he can beat on them like a bitch & they will not only not resist, they will assist in their own ass beating & demise......

It is up to Democrats to make the GOP pay for supporting violent attack on the Capitol.
