We want responsible gun ownership. The right to own a gun should endure. We can have responsible gun ownership and also greatly reduce mass shootings. Get rid of ARs and high capacity magazines. Have a national gun registry. Use microstamping. Have a psyche test to get a gun. Full background checks, including social media. Yes, red flag laws. What about electronic trigger that only works for the owner? Buy back programs. Keep your AR you already have till death, but no transfers or sales. Can't even hand it down. Must have a license. Pass the test and checks. 2 week waiting period. Must be 21 or older. Unregistered guns carry a sentence. AR must be turned in to the government upon death. Eventually they will all be gone.

Who knows how many people contemplate crimes but then decide against it because the victim might be armed. No way to tell, but something to think about. I bet would-be crooks do. Theft is more popular than robbery.
