Wa Post Poll Shows If The Election Were Held Today, Trump Would Still Beat Clinton :)

One last note on this: it's completely delusional to think that Comey's October Surprise didn't decide the election.

It definitely did. It solidified a negative impression of Hillary, so of course it still shows up in polls today. But that is a completely bogus conclusion on your part.

Given the election was decided by about 80,000 votes in 3 states, there is no doubt whatsoever that Comey's intrusion had the decisive effect. Why deny that? It affects your credibility. It's obvious to even a casual observer of politics.

What nonsense. Is that why you switched your prediction back to Hillary right before the election?

Lol, you're hysterical.

Yeah, that's why she won...oh yeah...
Besides the point. Just saying that if everyone hated her how comes she won more votes? LOL

I mean this is what's so hilarious about Trump being an unpopular President (and by that I'm not referring to his poll numbers but losing the popular vote. He's not doing well in the polls either).

I mean hey...he won...what could possibly go wrong? LOL Why all the hand wringing and spinning? LOL

Not doubt by an equally slim margin Hillary won the popular vote in the election lol.

With 'slim' being the key concept. Plus 3 million votes out of 210 million just isn't significant in blow out terms. It would be like bragging that your football team ran the ball down the other teams throat when the two teams came a hairs breadth of being tied in yards gained on the ground.

The take-home from the popular vote statistic isn't that Hillary had some sort of commanding lead in the electorate and that democracy was subverted by the electoral college; rather, it was quite the opposite: the electorate *is nearly evenly divided 50/50*. Look at what happened in just the last several months: Hillary won the popular vote in the election and Trump 'won' it in the very next poll.

Consequently, trying to win the WH via popular vote becomes a coin toss. Liberals should be thankful for the electoral college instead of whining about it. But they don't like the electoral college because the EC functions as a hedge against population centers leading the country in extreme directions.

In other words, liberals would very much like to ignore the Rust Belt and non-minorities but the EC forces them to do otherwise, or they themselves may face electoral irrelevance.

The founders were brilliant.

The electoral college was created to protect slavery.

Sporting try, though.

Dammit, I hate that illegal system of laws we have. Fuck, if we could just manage to get rid of the law then everything would nice and legal.

The Potus should be elected by national election one person one vote, tally up, highest vote count wins. Congress should be elected in same manner, with reps from each state in statewide election, one person one vote of equal weight, in numbers proportional to the national census figures for the state populations, and the senate should be eliminated. The Supreme Court should be selected by a combination of the following: IQ test, bar exam score, years on the appellate bench, judicial council rating. There should be a 50 year moratorium on Ivy League and Catholic jurists on the high court, as both subsets are grossly overrepresented.

I like the idea of voter ID's, poll tests and poll taxes. Especially poll testing. One should have a minimal literacy to qualify to vote.
Property owners' votes get weighed X's 2.

What if my parents own 9 residences but I haven't inherited them all yet, can I grandfather in more voting power?

He still wins in the polls you refer to.

Absolutely!

What if I own 50,000,000 worthless acres of land in the Arizona desert, can I vote to establish a government subsidized solar and wind farm and thereby make the landless slobs pay for it? If I own half of Montana can I use my newfound extra political clout to keep fly fisherman off my exclusive trout rivers?

Land should not vote. Rich people already have too much power baked in. No icing necessary.
