VP responsible for the bud light boycott is out

Does "freak" mean unnatural to you?

I do not know what she thinks she is, but I do not mind giving her the respect of calling her whatever she wants me to call her. I suspect in some ways she is a woman, she dresses like one, makes herself look like one, might have emotions more like an average woman... I suspect in some ways she is a man, I guess she likely has a penis, and without medication grows a beard... I really do not know. I never knew who she was before this.

Dylan is a he... just look up Dylan Mulvaney and the Skivvies.... the girl thing is all an act...;)

No, I think they are not going to deliver and stock the cans with Dylan's face on them any longer.
They never planned on releasing the Dylan cans. They were made just for her.

“From time to time we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public," an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson said.”[/FONT]

The boycott isn't referring to that. I am speaking to the reality of a successful result of the boycott. The woman lost her job, and the cans will be more rare then anticipated. I sort of wish I had bought some before the foreseen consequences of them insulting their base customers while trying to backfill the hole she had put them in...

How did they insult their base?

Depends on how you define what is a "he". Like I said, she seems to have some attributes to the average of both sexes.

Anyway, for Jarod:

I feel a bit sorry for the VP of Marketing who is going to lose her job, she did what they told her to do and is a scapegoat IMHO.

As for my second statement: There are actual cans with Dylan's face on them that were stocked in places as part of the ad campaign that began this controversy (what truly caused it was the VP who will likely be fired deliberately stating they didn't want to appeal to the "frat boys" who actually were the base customers for the product). Those will be taken back and they will restock with normal cans. This will make those cans rare and, like Billy Beer, I would like to have some of the rare cans that began this controversy, not to drink the swill, but to add to my collection next to my Billy Beer.

I feel a bit bad for her, she was hired to do something, jumped in with both feet, then immediately there were "unforeseen" consequences for it. (I put quote marks around "unforeseen" because it was easy to predict by multitudes).

I don't feel bad for her at all. She had contempt for the people who drank bud light and thought they needed to "evolve" is the word I think she used. It's the pomposity that gets me.

No. A platypus is quite natural but it's a freak

What are you talking about?????? He says he's a woman. So you say in some ways he is a woman. Ok what is that?

How did they insult their base?

The VP of Marketing showed a contempt for the customer base and devalued them calling them "frat boys" and "party boys" in her explanation as to why she hired Dylan. She made it clear that the customer base had no value to her as a target of marketing and they no longer wanted to appeal to the current customer base. She got her wish, they no longer appeal to what was the current customer base.

She was very successful in removing the appeal to the "frat boys" and "party beer" drinkers. She did what was asked for her to do... SMH.

I never drank the stuff unless I was forced to (handed the swill at a picnic or something like that), it's nasty swill. That being said, yes. Her arrogant stance devaluing the current customer base of the product was the end of the product. If she had simply said, "hey, not every ad is aimed at the base, we're just trying to get some new customers!" she may have bypassed this whole thing. Instead she made it clear she didn't want to appeal to the "frat boys" and they needed to "evolve" to get a better class of customer... SMH... For someone in Marketing, that was a fatal blow...

Every bit of this is 100% spot on. That's especially true of the swill part. I only drank it once and have refused even free ones since then. The stuff is crap.

If some of my old college debate team members could see this thread, there would be peals of derisive laughter from the debate stage.

In a formal debate:

Given: "VP responsible for the Bud light boycott is out," defend it.

It has already happened, there is no basis for debate.

Opposing team gets a Rubric Template score of next to zero.

The ambulance chaser has been obfuscating, as usual, and asking unrelated, ridiculous questions in order to cover the fact/s that Bud apologized, fired the dumb idiot who originated this freaky campaign to, I assume, sell more Bud Light and aired a patriotic commercial with the beautiful Clydesdale's, none of whom that are stallions think they are mares.

The ambulance chaser lost this one and just can't bring himself to admit it.

Like sand through the hour-glass, these are the days of our lives.

It's just a beer.

I think debate teams in the future won't be able to stop laughing long enough to debate over the idea that a commemorative can of beer sent to one person could trigger so many conservatives and be one of the top issues of the day.

Read some of Damocle's posts. He explains this better than I...though I am a better writer.

True, but considering the combination of Bud Light drinkers among the Trumpers and the fact they are extremely homophobic, I can see why they're upset.

Who really gives a shit about Bud Light drinkers? Budweiser was trying to build a customer base....or do you really believe every member having a conniption over this really drank Bud Light?
