Former President Donald Trump’s tax returns include redactions of some personal sensitive information such as Social Security and bank account numbers. They span nearly 6,000 pages, including more than 2,700 pages of individual returns from Trump and his wife, Melania, and more than 3,000 pages in returns for Trump’s business entities.

A point that is entirely missed is Trump did not want to support the US government. He cheated and used every tax break he could find. He does not care about America. Why should he pay anything to support the government? Because the lying shit wanted to be president, that is why. Refusing to pay taxes to America should disqualify you. He wanted to run the military while fighting to not pay a dime for building it and paying for it. He wanted to run a country that he did not pay into. He had no skin in the game. Fuck Trump.

do we just count individual tax? or do we count taxes paid by his companies, the people his companies employ etc?

Part of the reason tax breaks are given to companies is that they bring employment to areas which then generate more taxes and economic activity.

I havent gone thru the taxes yet but if they are all legal and according to our laws then I have no problem with him paying no taxes.

Why? He had the power to pay straight up taxes. He chose not to. That is the point. He wanted to run a government that he did everything he could to keep from supporting.

It was the power of wealthy, the money and power of lobbyists, and a system that allows the corporations and the wealthy to influence it. We all know that the Repubs are a complete and total sellout to the wealthy and corporations. Some Dems went along. The money to run a campign is so much, that they all sell out to some degree. The Repub do it as a matter of course. Biden has proposed a min tax on the wealthy and corporations. Every single Repub is against it. If you don't understand that reality, then you have no right to respond.

Being able to carry over losses against future taxes isn't a loophole; that's another dumb leftist meme. It's smart policy to ensure that people stay employed. :palm:
