Vietnam vets sue Trump over 250-foot ‘Triumphal Arch’ at Arlington as his sweeping DC face-lift ramps up

They argue that his plans to build a 250-foot "triumphal arch" near the Arlington National Cemetery's main entrance lacks congressional approval, violates federal law, and would be disrespectful of those buried there.

If erected, the triumphal arch — inspired by Arc de Triomphe in Paris — would be the largest in the world. And critics worry that the sheer size of it alone would dominate the landscape, leaving nearby landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial — and our veterans — in its shadows.

"What has happened here is that the president has decided that he can just unilaterally go ahead and erect this monument," Wendy Liu, who represents the veterans who feel personal ties to the cemetery, told 9News. "The thought of being buried in the shadow of what they have described as a vainglorious arch is profoundly disrespectful."

The Arc of Trump?

At one time monuments and such were commissioned to celebrate or memorialize the county or a special event, in the era of Trump, there for Trump

Three Vietnam War veterans and an architectural historian are suing Donald Trump...

I doubt it was hard for whoever is bankrolling that to find three crazy Vietnam War veterans and an "architectural historian" to sue. Maybe one of the Vietnam Veterans is this guy?

You want that ugly thing that will stroke Trump's ego overshadowing the heroes?

Nothing to do with hating Trump. It's about respecting and honoring.

Had Biden or Obama done it, you'd be the first to sign up.
No, I wouldn't have. I would have thought about the same thing as I do about Trump doing it. It's a monument that in a word is gaudy. It's something Trump would do. He likes gauche things. For example, his fascination with gold plating everything. I guess bad taste is no worse than no taste. Trump has bad taste when it comes to aesthetics.

It doesn't need congressional approval.

There are many such arches around the world.

"What has happened here is that the president has decided that he can just unilaterally go ahead and erect this monument,

He can.

The arch is not going to be at the cemetery.

People who are buried can't say anything.

This is what I mean by bad taste when it comes to Trump:

It's gauche and baroque all at once. I'd say it's an aesthetic that few find pleasant to the eye.

I mean you'd sign up in support for them being against it.

Real money whispers, Trump money yells to the highest of hills, LOOK AT ME, I'M RICH. But I wouldn't expect anything less from poor white trashies, like the Trumps. Rich in stolen corrupt money, but poor as shit when it comes to humanity and mankind...all of which someday, they'll answer for.
