Valuing Physics over PE

Interesting. I don't know that I have an opinion yet. It's worth trying to see what happens.

But the one quote in the article about how the PE teacher may be the ones keeping kids in school so they'll go to the other classes is a fair one. And teaching a kid is a team effort.

On the other hand, someone with an advanced math degree may have invested more in their education and may have competing private job offers; so paying more to keep them may make sense.

on the other hand... last thing you want is a lot of teachers fighting.

And on the other hand... ok, so you pay PE teachers less; and the ones that are at the top of the grade don't get as many raises. Will they ease off on their teaching? stop coaching after school sports? (I don't know if they get paid extra for those).

Hmmm... well, it does seem worth trying to see what happens. Will be interesting to see what others think.

I always assumed different teachers made different salaries. According to the article they used a supply and demand formula to determine the teaching position payscale. I guess some teachers need to learn how math works
