Maybe I missed it in the Time article but does it state anything about qualifications for a position in pay differential? If I'm competing for an analyst position against a man or woman that will play a role in who the company hires and how much they are willing to pay.

If a man and woman are competing for the same position and a woman has an MBA from a top school and the man just has a bachelors and they each have equal years work experience for similar type firms and the man gets offered more then yeah something seems fishy in that scenario.

But I don't know how we can expect government to start legislating salaries at private companies.
