Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to catalyze long-term systemic shifts in Bangladesh's economy, institutions, and governance structures through interventions such as enabling policy development, strengthening institutions, facilitating technology transfer, bolstering climate research, and catalyzing the scaling of climate actions. This activity will be a cooperative agreement awarded through a competitive process. The total estimated contribution of the mission is $15,000,000, with an expected life of five years, beginning on or around June 2024

USAID supplied polio vaccinations to countries that are too poor to control it. It fights viruses in poor lands, some of which could spread outside, maybe worldwide. It builds clean water installations in poor lands. It helps supply medicines to the poor. It does a lot and enhances the reputation of America as it does it. It is 1/2 a percent of our budget.

While the US "left" claim USAID is a "humanitarian" organization, and the Trump admin claims it is spreading "liberal" values, its actual purpose is to facilitate the political capture of targeted nations. It has its own section in US gov. counterinsurgency (COIN) manuals. The roles it serves in providing basic services for a local population is admittedly for establishing "control" over the population. And in case you have any lingering doubts, the same COIN manual includes a photo of US soldiers in the middle of brutally putting down an insurgency in the Philippines which the US colonized until the end of WW2.

This is nothing but using card stacking to try and make the agency look good. The overall picture is far different however.
