US troops on the ground in Ukraine

Actually, Vietnam made more sense than massively aiding Ukraine does.

I was there. Were you?

Vietnam made absolutely no sense at all unless you believe that people can't choose communism of their own accord,
and that the US, never without its own monumental problems, needed to have a say in the matter.
As it is, they drove us the fuck out and took our "0" away in our war record--Korea still not having been settled to this day.

Putin is a threat to Europe, and Europe is possibly the only semi-civilized place in the world right now, although it too is fading fast.

First of all, so what? The Trumpanzee SCOTUS has turned our nation into such a deplorable shithole that nobody's life is worth shit anymore anyway.

No better example than Herr Gardner himself.

And second, having troops in Ukraine makes a hell of a lot more sense than hauling my ass off to Vietnam ever did over a half century ago.
Same thing with wasting time, money, and lives in the wastelands of the Middle East.

Europe is actually a civilized continent worth trying to save.

 Triggered mental case whose severe TDS has caused him to lose touch with reality. :palm:

And, that's bad for the US. Ukraine isn't worth the massive effort we're shoving into it.

Assume Ukraine wins this war. How does that change US foreign policy or trade?

Assume Ukraine loses this war. How does that change US foreign policy or trade?

The answers are very similar, if not the same.
We're witnessing the desperation of our failing empire. The US now has its boot on the neck of Europe.

who cares about Ukraine? not me one way or the other.
Let Europe handle their own wars

Legitimate targets ?

they are enemy combatants so yup.

Of course they have been from the beginning (special ops guys) so this merely signals an upgrade.

So when did Congress approve this ? I don't recall seeing it in the news.

Congress wrote the $100 billion check.

You care because Putin cares, comrade dookie.

Sounds good in theory but politicians avoid accountability.

yes, they do. call me old fashioned but I still think laws apply.

this isnt about printing monopoly money anymore, its about putting American servicemen in danger.

Military lives matter.

I know I sound like a broken record, but the US economy is based on war. We all have blood on our hands.

Two bombshell reports by the Associated Press and Washington Post Monday and Tuesday have confirmed that the United States has boots on the ground in the Ukraine conflict. Crucially, these troops are performing tasks separate from mere embassy security.

SO far, all I have seen from any official source, is that there are some Americans on the ground there serving as Volunteers, Ukraine sympathizers, Universal Soldiers, Independent Mercenaries, and Freedom Fighters.

Some of them have been reported as- killed in action! That is how I learned of this!

Is that what you are talking about, as our government cannot prevent individuals from doing this on their own accord?
