US steel drops plan for $1.5 billion plant

But it doesn't. Biden also wants to raise corporate taxes well above other nations. He's against fracking. He's come out in favor of far stricter pollution controls on a very short timeframe. If anything Biden is deincentivizing corporations expanding in America, particularly ones that do heavy manufacturing like steel. It's the same pattern that drove the aerospace manufacturing industry out of California. Hell, even Musk is moving Tesla out of that state as much as he can because physical manufacturing is just too difficult to do in that regulatory nightmare of a state.
Green jobs will increase manufacturing. Musk and others will conform or lose out. Tesla just needs a good dose of competition.

Not necessarily true. Many green industries simply cost more to produce as a side effect of pollution reduction. In other cases, the product goes away because it can't be economically produced anymore.

As for jobs, ones in solar pay about $20,000 less per year than those in fossil fuels so that one is a net loser for workers (about $50,000 versus $70,000). Another downside to solar is the cost of electricity skyrockets with large amounts of solar in use. Germany, Spain, Australia as but three examples prove that conclusively. California is another example with some of the highest per KWH costs in the US.

Biden plans to only buy American, that would be a stupid move on their part. All future Presidents, if they really care about America first should do the same.

How can U.S. companies buy American steel when there's none being milled here? What choice do they have but to buy the cheap shit from China?

There are many ways to combat companies going overseas. Biden’s infrastructure plan could incentivize US Steel to rethink their decision.

Like "taxing the rich" corporations who will most definitely take their production overseas?
American steels are superior to Chinese junk, that is a fact. But what do you know about
the quality of steel, your Prius is mostly plastic with a little tin and battery operated?

The society has to change. Its demands for polluting products has to be curbed. We all need to be a lot more clever than we are. We've allowed greed to degrade our intellectual advantages.

Remember that the next time you bring a fork to your mouth. Idiot.

And don't forget rolling brown-and blackouts.

US Steel has announced it's dropping its plan to expand a Pennsylvania steel mill to supply the auto industry. They're citing a combination of foot dragging by local building officials and the Biden administration push on Gorebal Warming.

They're also dropping a plan to frack natural gas to supply this plant adjacent to it due to the Biden administration.

So much for American jobs from the Biden administration. Good paying jobs gone in a state hurting for good paying jobs. Maybe Pennsylvanians will remember this come 2022...

Democrats are morons. :palm:

The aim is for zero pollution.

Then you are an idiot. Zero pollution is impossible in a technologically advanced society. We will generate pollution as a byproduct of our level of technology whether it is radio noise interference (yes, it is a form of pollution), waste products from daily life, or whatever from making stuff.
The objective should be to target for optimal pollution, not zero.

I think you mean target an acceptable level of pollution. Optimal pollution will always be zero.

Optimal pollution balances costs against benefits. Acceptable simply means the amount generated is accepted as necessary. The problem today is the environmental Left in particular wants zero pollution. They are insane idiots.

GREAT JOB, PRES.MORON !!!!!!

NOW ADD IN THE BIDEN INFLATION BUBBLE ,AND WE SEE A DUNCE WELL ON THE WAY TO SCREWING UP THE GREATEST ECONOMY OF OUR LIFETIMES....

The problem with defining optimal that way is it is subjective as to what are the actual costs and benefits. You think the "Left" is insane because they define costs and benefits different than you define them. It might be "optimal" for someone to simply poor used oil in the river because it costs nothing and it goes downstream so doesn't affect the local area. But that would not be the optimal choice for all those living downstream.
