The irony here, as “floridafan” pointed out, is that the same “critics” now who are all over for Pelosi going would be calling her a coward and the US feeble if she canceled her trip. And if McCarthy did the same during the last Administration they’d be praising him for standing up to the Ghinese

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday that the decision to visit Taiwan was the speaker's, noting there was past precedent of members of Congress -- including previous House speakers -- visiting. "Congress is an independent, coequal branch of government," Blinken said in remarks at the United Nations. "The decision is entirely the speaker's."

Speaker Pelosi has made it perfectly clear that the U.S. will defend its allies, and congrats for having President Biden at correcting certain things of a global nature as the U.S. never forgets what its enemies of the past did on 9/11 and eventually dealt with when them accordingly.
