the US is a far way from becoming a third world country. i agree with you about the drug "war". total bullshit. legalize marijuana and you get rid of the main problem, coke, crack etc. because to purchase weed now, you have to go through illicit channels unless you have a medical prescription. once you engage in illicit trade, you are introduced to other illicit goods and those who sell such goods. when america got rid of prohibition, crime went down. same thing will happen with marijuana.

And of course you know all about darning... I have a solution to your penis cozy consternation; cut off the small finger of a child's' glove and attach a drawstring to one end...that way you can make the old fella' sit up and pay attention once again :D

I doubt anyone, aside from kids who may have heard The Beatles Eleanor Rigby will even be familiar with the word "darning." For years I thought Father McKenzie was "ironing his socks in the night when there's nobody there." Here in the South, women folk do all kinds of things.. crochet, knitting, embroidery, cross-stitch, quilting, needlepoint, but I've never heard of them "darning." I think maybe we use a different word... it's the same as "mending" isn't it?

I knew what he meant...I was merely taking an opportunity to show that not only can I darn, but I can knit too... Apparently my many talents as a house frau are unappreciated :(

Mend? I might mend a cupboard door or even a relationship but the correct word for repairing woollen socks with wool is to darn. To enable this complex procedure one might have a darning needle and a mushroom.
I know way down where you exist you probably didn't have shoes when you were kids let alone socks.

what are you groaning at Usfreedom? isn't making americans into slaves the way to stimulate business investment in the nation?
 
It was a desperate attempt to rationalize the very situation that is destroying the american working class. Something about keeping chinese as slaves will be good because we can make parts here that are then assembled there. But why cant they just make those parts there too? It was lame and desperate. Business consideration need to be kept inside a framework of other concerns, otherwise, totalitarian internationalist fascism ensues.

Plus no company would make the parts here, ship them there, then ship the assembled product back.. Generally we assemble the crap in Mexico after they make the parts in China and we cut out that American in the middle...
