still the current usage is limited to three to four nations in one geographic area (although somalia is outside the middle east)

while we have troops stationed all over the world, and it looks like we are getting ready to get in to a match with china, we are not killing people in those places...yet

also, i prefer using drones instead of troops on the ground that can be killed by ieds

We are droning in more than just those countries .. but you've said nothing of the horror of where we are droning, or the innocent people we kill, or the rising anti-americanism that comes from them.

the range of drones is limited, they would have to have bases in either canada or mexico

then there are our nuclear tipped missiles...

no, i am not comfortable or happy about drones in us skies - do you think mittens would do any less, i think not

as for working with al queda, there are al queda and al queda...some are fanatics and others amenable to working out peace agreements (i think they would prefer that than to being on the receiving end of a missile from a drone)

did you see my post regarding the house passing a bill to renew surveillance of 'suspected terrorist conversations' for 5 years?

my question for you is, what should we do about terrorists...should we let them strike at our embassies and other assets worldwide at will or what?

so far we have reduced terrorist attacks at home to almost none and on our aircraft, but at what cost

i do not know about you, but i have no good ideas on how to prevent terrorist attacks

Stay out of there lands, with our wars/weapons/drones.
Be prepared for uprisings, Egypt might have been a 1 time (it was on 9-11) -but Libya is a mess. tribal militias run localities.
AgfPak is as good as it's gonna get -a semi trained army, that shoots us ("Blue on Green")
Drone ONLY extreme high level targets, now it's a routine use,and it's kiling "collateral damage" inflames passions to wage jihad.
You family/viliage /house get blown, up -I'd go radical too. The point: our policy creates as much loathing , and confrontation as possible.


If we had used a few drones -like for only high level targets and not "suspected militants, and pre-emptive stikes in Yemen, maybe they wouldn't hate our muderous ass as much.

There will asways the Thugs, Radical Islamists. Nutcases like the Florida pastor. Detente', or at least an attempt of lessing tensions is the slow but sure way out.

Of course that can't happen 'till we stop the "war on terror". Iran is another wild card. It would be helpful for Russia to aide Turkey, with a no fly zone- I don't trust the west not to turn it into another full scale war participation.

Our minds are jingoistic nonscense. Obama was on shortly earlier promsing to "bring the kiilers to justice, and kept taking about how hard we want "the newest democracy to suceed". After he caused this fracture of Libya.

Quit the gawddamn New Crusades, and try to regain some credability. Maybe as much as China -yes we're as low as they go.
