Hell, if a politician says 'I'm going to focus on education and jobs' can we really determine that to be true now? Do we know for sure he/she will really do that once in office? I guess another way to put it can you think of a political ad that would get your label? (or two or three ads?)

Great column on cnnsi.com about how in the NFL when ownership says they will 'take care of a player (financially)' it can mean two very different things to the owner and the player.

The most common ad I see is for the Camaro. 312 HP in the standard V6, great gas mileage, and independent rear suspension in a rear wheel drive platform. That is a sweet ride. :good4u:

He has a right to do what he chooses, I personall have a right to attempt to persuade him to do what I hope he will do. I have no problem with people lobbying the owner of the medium to do the right thing.

No, I understood exactly what you meant, and what you said. You want a "committee" to decided what is appropriate information to disperse to the public. That's exactly how it was in Orwell's book. You aren't asking for anything different here, and you seem to be under some delusion that ANY committee would ever be without partisanship. Then comes the question, who is in charge of establishing, funding, and appointing this committee? The government? If so, it is verbatim what was in Orwell's book, almost to the letter! I can't believe what I am reading here, that actual Americans are really suggesting we adopt the Big Brother policies of Orwell's 1984, and not batting an eye about it! STUNNING! :eek:

I understand fully. Rather than protest what someone says, you feel the need to protest their right to say it. And then justify your totalitarian leanings by calling it "the right thing".
 
I simply want an end to "the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge and patriotism as a bludgeon."

I belive if enough people stood up against it, it would end.... Its offensive to me to have these two important principals used to manipulate the electorate.

Yes, I shouldn't be spreading lies about The Great One, I know... I shouldn't be saying that he supports the mosque at ground zero, since he has been so vocal about his opposition to it. Obviously, I am just a liar. We all know that Obama secretly doesn't want the mosque built there, he just can't come out and say that, or people may think he is Islamaphobic! And here I am, taking full advantage of his predicament, and telling outright lies on the man, I should be ashamed, but I just can't help myself.
