If California decides to break away (as so many American conservatives hope it does)...the US economy will probably end up behind Japan, Germany, the UK, France and Italy also.

It is truly mindboggling just how much regulation emanates from Brussels, we could scrap at least 50% and be far better off. That's why the EU is so terrified, they know that once they are found out the whole house of cards will collapse. Let's be clear here; China has NEVER invaded anyone. The only time they have engaged was either, when they were attacked, or when North Korea was about to be defeated and they would have no buffer with Capitalism.
In order for China to become what this article stupidly predicts, they would have to first release their citizens from bondage, stop allowing the exploitation of their environment and their people's wages.
I don't see that happening unless their Communist regime collapses.
