"Dear Lord this year you have taken away my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite singer, Michael Jackson, and my favorite salesman, Billy Mays. I just wanted to let you know that Chris Christie is my favorite governor."

let's check the prayer once again:

The use of "My"=5 times

"My" indicates singular...if it were more than one they would have used "our"

The writer also uses "I"...I, once again singular.

The author of the memo MAY be a wacko, but he/she was definitely on his/her own.
 
I think its pretty likely that it was intended as a joke. It may have been in a memo as an insult to the gov, but not as a threat.

For one thing, it doesn't have the angry and completely serious tone that most of the far right death threats have had. It's just a bit of sly humor. Trying to use this to create a false balance between the angriness and bloodthirst of the left and the right obviously isn't going to work.

Again, this is a false equivalency. The left obviously is not behaving as badly as the right.

"I just want to tell you that Christie is my favorite governor..." does not compare with "All it takes is one piece of lead!"
