After my cousin finished med school, she went to work for a company that did medical research under a DoD contract. She had to do some pretty horrible things to animals as part of the research. They weren't like giving mice too much sugary round up and waiting to see if they got cancer type stuff. They were working on drugs for shock/trauma to prolong the lives of wounded on the battlefield until they could get to treatment which obviously meant that had to inflict major trauma on the animals being used--mostly dogs. It still bothers her enough that she refuses to have pets because they cause her to flashback to some of the stuff they were doing to them.

I was merely pointing out the fact that liberals are always using the 'No true Scotsman' fallacy regarding Islamic terror, while at the same time claiming that Conservatives do the same regarding RINO's.
