and how does that give Credit companies the right to prey upon these fools? Those bastards charged me a $35 late fee two months after I canceled a card. I refused to pay it by the time I called my local congressman and the State Atty Gen office to report them it had rolled up to $300 and they had reported it on my credit. Then after they recieved a nasty gram from the State Atty Generals office the magnanimous bastards called me up and told me they were going to forgive the debt. I told them to go fuck them selves. That I didn't owe them anything and that they needed to remove the charges all together as their fault. Another call to my State Atty Generals office and they did so. But I wasted a lot of time and stress and arguing over money I never owed them. The bastards.

They made a mistake and you took recourse on them. I think I'll do that with ATT, who just duped me out of $950. Thanks for the idea, man.

Um, yes if I want one. I have the option to accept one or not. I have the option to choose to use it or not. I have the option to be responsible. Nothing personal but I don't need you or the federal government to step in and tell me how I can control my finances.

Edit: If I have filed for bankruptcy or some other extreme measure then that may be a different case. But simply because I spent too much money on my credit card previously or didn't pay off a few things and my credit suffered as a result that is no reason to eliminate the option for me to have access to a card if I so desire.

I got you confused with SmarterThanYou - the other stupid hick. His grandmother didn't save for retirement and she's living on social security now, which is his reason for wanting to get rid of social security all together. Make sense? Not to me either.
 
Giving credit cards to people with bad credit is the same mentality as giving the mortgages to people with bad credit to buy a house.

Both of those "wise decisions" are biting all of our butts now.
