No, no one can prove a negative. But if the pipeline was the reason we went to war in Afghanistan as BAC suggests, then WHY would they not finish the job in Afghanistan? Why would they neglect it for 7 years while fighting in Iraq? What is the benefit to the US? We already ensured that Caspian oil had a third route (rather than going through Russia or Iran). Which leaves only the Nat Gas fields in Eastern Turkmenistan. We have an estimated 300 year supply of Nat Gas in this country. We could tap that far easier and more efficiently than starting a war in Afghanistan to build a pipeline that would primarily benefit three countries.... Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan (maybe a fourth if the pipeline were extended to India). The US would not be the primary beneficiary. That is what makes the claim so completely ridiculous.
None of the above will BAC ever answer. He simply re-quotes statements from over a decade ago and pretends that justifies his assertions. Then as a final crutch he tries to pretend that because the US has gone to war before due to oil concerns that somehow that means that is why we went into Afghanistan. Bottom line... it doesn't make sense. There is NO justification for his argument that he has provided.

1) WHAT is the benefit of the NAT GAS pipeline to the US?
2) WHY would they neglect Afghanistan for 7 years if their purpose of going to war there was to build a pipeline?
3) The oil pipeline has been off the table for years. There is NO interest in putting an oil pipeline in Afghanistan. NONE.
