Ukraine’s Zelensky Calls for Removing Russia From U.N.

America has attacked nations. That hopefully is over with Dems in power. But Putin has done it before and will do it again. He is who this thread is about.

No- you don't get to discuss Putin's alleged excesses without America's proven excesses.

The Russian soldiers who are doing this shit are also part of the Russian people.

They didn't just turn barbaric after becoming soldiers.

That has to be part of who they've always been.

We have a different view.

More to the point, I think you're taking my offhand remark too literally.

I was not advocating for any kind of foreign or military policy.

Nomad: "Russia should be removed from the face of the Earth." (Post #11)
Jack: Yes. I guess I was. (Thanks for clearing that up)

:) I don't know what the 'Rules' are. Maybe expand the '5 Permanent Members' to 6? Or 7?

Well, the rules are that a permanent member has a veto in the security council.
So, they can invade ANYONE and do ANYTHING and if the Security Council want to militarily stop them from invading?
They cannot because the permanent member can veto it.
And the permanent members were established when the UN formed.

I am not sure giving even more countries the right to do ANYTHING they want is a good idea.
I think the only solution is to drop the vetoes.
But - again - why would a country ever want to give up a 'veto'?

So, in this regard, I think the UN is permanently screwed.

It doesn't seem to be doing much here. It's very disappointing.

In a perfect world (which we are miles from)?

The UN would be made up of it's own, separate armed forces (manned with all volunteers).
And every country would donate 1/2 of 1% of their GDP to the UN military (right now - the world military spending average is 2.4% of GDP)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_military_expenditures

This equals about $400 billion per year and would render every country safe from invasion except from America and maybe China.
And it would save the world, huge amounts in military spending.

I know it would never fly.
But it would spell the end of almost all wars...potentially.

It would end any opportunity for you to be free.

You will do as you are told.
