It's certainly a legitimate target and Ukraine has the firepower with Harpoon sea skimming missiles now.

General Philip Breedlove, who was supreme allied commander for Europe from 2013 to 2016 said an attack could be launched with newly supplied Harpoon missiles. Sir Philip said that an attack could be a devastating blow for the Kremlin as it links mainland Russia with Crimea which, according to Moscow, was incorporated into the Russian Federation in 2014.

The General told The Times the bridge is a "legitimate target" due to Russia's ongoing aggression towards Ukraine.

He said: "Kerch bridge is a legitimate target.

"It doesn’t surprise me at all that the Russians are concerned about Kerch bridge. It’s incredibly important to them.

"Now that the West has given Ukraine [sub-sonic, sea-skimming cruise] Harpoon missiles [with a range of up 200 miles] I think the Russians have every reason to be worried about Ukraine launching an attack on the bridge.

Russia would respond with nuclear tacs.
Kviv would be hit with whatever they got. the escalation would be all the way on both sides

The General is a nutcase surrounded by war -so nothing can be ruled out.

Russia reportedly destroys two Ukrainian Harpoon missiles launchers donated by UK

According to information published by Tass on July 8, 2022, the Russian forces delivered strikes by sea-launched smart weapons to wipe out two Harpoon missile launchers in Odessa region delivered by the UK to the Ukrainian military, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov reported.

Some 7,000 people from the UK, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada participated in the poll commissioned by the Munich Security Conference ahead of the G7 summit.

They found that Britain “stands out” among its western allies in confronting Vladimir Putin. In all Britain has donated an estimated £2.1 billion in aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion.

Ukraine blitzes eight ammo dumps in one day - Russians buckling under NATO fire power

UKRAINIAN forces targeted and destroyed eight Russian ammunition dumps in a series of devastating attacks carried out on Friday.

Kyiv has recently acquired a number of precision heavy artillery pieces from their NATO allies. These include US High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), French Caesar long-range howitzers and German Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers. The new weapons have allowed Ukraine's commanders to attack Russian supply lines and military bases in the rear with ever greater accuracy and effectiveness.

In particular Russian artillery ammunition depots have been targeted, as Ukraine's army tries to disrupt Moscow's ability to wage its brutal bombardments of cities and villages.

And Ukraine's high command now appears to have scored a major success against Putin's army.

According to reports, as many as eight Russian ammunition dumps were blitzed by Ukrainian artillery units in the Donbas region and Kherson province.

Ukraine World, an account belonging to Internews, tweeted: "In the course of July 8th, Ukraine's armed forces destroyed 5 ammunition depots of the occupants (Shakhtarsk, Nova Kahovka, Snizhne, Debaltseve, and Donetsk).

The effectiveness of Ukraine's strategy to target Russian ammunition dumps with their NATO supplied weapons was admitted in a video broadcast by the infamous Russian army veteran Igor Girkin.

He played a key role in Moscow's annexation of Crimea in 2014, later going on to organise militant groups in the so-called Donetsk People's Republic.

Throughout the war, he has provided a running commentary on Putin's invasion of Ukraine, and at times has been very critical of the performance of the Russian army.

Mr Girkin told his followers in a video posted on Sunday: "In the last two weeks, our enemy has destroyed at least eight large artillery warehouses containing rockets and artillery weapons.

"In addition, they have destroyed quite a large number of oil depots, several command posts, as well as a number of air defence systems."

He went on to add that the days when Russian forces could attack Ukrainian positions without fear of a substantive reply were over.

It comes as the US announced it would be sending a further four HIMAR units to Ukraine, bringing the total number to 12.

I dont "know"anything,but think it out.
Putin has already targeted Kyiv without Russian super-infrastructure being attacked.

The Kerch Strait Bride is Putin's baby. He go it built when many said it wouldn't stand because of all the silt would not anchor the pylons (pylons would be in silt instead of hard ground). Yet there it is.
And it's Mother Russia as far as Putin is concerned -which Putin said would hit new targets over longer range rockets

It would be the mother of all escalations.. nuke response on at least military targets

No, the notorious war criminal Vlad Putin will not use nukes.

At this point of the game, I have to assume most Republicans were the kids in junior high who got intimidated into giving their lunch money up to bullies. But I think when someone punches you, you punch back.

NATO and Ukraine cannot lose, Russia will run out of armaments long before NATO does. Russia never anticipated the world reaction to their ill fated invasion, and they are paying the price.
