Whether they were abolitionists in the true sense of the word is another question. But there weren't a lot of others. So by all means bring me that list, if you haven't run away at the prospect of actually compiling it.
As to your latter claim, I thought it was the Civil War and the hard choices Lincoln had to make to win it that finally brought the "peculiar institution" (a peculiar name don't you agree) to an end after the war ended and the Southern slave owners were no longer represented in Congress!

Have you ever read the original version of the Constitution; the one that was in force before the Civil War and the Fourteenth Amendment written and passed when the Southern slave owners were no longer represented in Congress? Further, have you ever studied how the crime and prison exemption in that Amendment was quickly used as a popular Southern loophole to immediately begin the re-enslavement of the black population after it was ratified? Well, mister smarter than everybody have you?

yes, i've read it. yes, i've studied how certain groups of people skirted around the rights of newly freed blacks, WITH the help of other certain groups of people and government. NONE of which details that oppressing slaves was the original intent of the 2nd Amendment. have YOU read anything from ANY of the framers that says what you claim?

My direct question to you has been answered so unless that situation changes, I'm all good.
