Uh oh, stocks have never been higher

Right and that is why dems blamed Bush for 2008.

LOL, yep.......... Usually the presidents are not directly involved, but in this case the bush admin got directly involved bailing out the crooks..

Now your turn-obama did the same........:awesome:

Bush was a fiscally irresponsible President. His VP famously said that deficit spending didn't matter.

He bears much of the weight for '08.
Dick the dick was merely speaking his mind, & he was correct, it didn't matter to him nor bush the lesser......... THey are set for the rest of their stinking lives..

I agree that fundamentals have been thrown out the window, but I would be careful with the "stocks will always recover". Remember we are going to be heading into a situation soon where there are potentially more sellers than buyers. As more and more baby boomers head into retirement, they begin tapping into their 401ks especially with mandatory contributions. Couple that with Millennials having a lack of trust in buying stocks and you could have a volatile situation.

A lot so movement in the market is institutional buyers aka mutual fund buying on behalf of retirement plans.

I made out big on BREXIT. Best trades of my life. I am no betting that there will be another bit of volatility so I am buying the VIX and waiting for a pop in volatility

ehh if it gets low enough i think you can always count on a dead cat bounce. But the thing is you cant not take the risk. The profit margins involved when you succeed (which you normally do) makes it worthwhile.

Which is why I think this whole crash was perpetrated. I mean if two random people like us can make out big in situations like this what more the connected people? I really think they manipulated the idiot libs into selling their shares because "omg omg brexit will crash the economy noes!" then managed to do what we did but on a much grander scale.

I would not be surprised if this whole episode made the rich a lot richer.

You are one of those economically illiterate that I just read about.

Bush deficit is bad
Obama deficits good

That sums you up pretty well

I stopped thinking about what others will do. I have two trades I make right now. I buy and sell volatility. So far it has been an easy trade to execute

I don't try to predict tops or bottoms, but follow the charts.

My style is more about generating a certain return and once I do, I sell. I often cost myself further rises, but I have learned to live with it.

For example I closed out my short position to go long, which has cost me another $9,000 in gains. I am OK with it.

A big lesson for me was 2008 when I finally shed the shackles of "buy and hold".

yeah if im being honest i sold too early too. I didnt think that the stock market would rise this high but once you get your profit you cut and run and invest elsewhere :)

Who signed the Financial Services Modernisation Act and scrapped Glass-Steagall?

IMHO it is more than that, but the ball was already rolling when he got there........
Lol, so in 2006, Bush was still just rolling with the ball, but a mere two years later, he was pushing the ball.

As Thing would say, you're a hack.

trickle down was flawed from the start. The theory was the rich would invest after tax cuts. They did invest and create jobs. In india pakistan and other places :)

Economists didnt want to consider that there would be other economies aside from your own since that kills the theory :)
