UFO's.....old hat, new interests.

It was a UFO

an unidentified flying object

Because it wasn’t the military advancement I surmised it was tells me little

I will never know what it was

And I never reported it to anyone official

I fully realized reporting it was folly

So I never told anyone but folks like we have here

Just as an aside

How many more humans have done the same?

Someone has technology that we yet don’t have

Someone

I don’t know who

What do you think it was?

Why do you think reporting it would be folly?

I already said that Du

An intelligence of some form

I was a poor college student

It was the early 1980s

Why would ANYONE believe me

Yes it was folly

Bullshit. It's one thing to say "Hey, anyone see that weird fucking light in the sky last night?" and it's another to run around screaming about space aliens.

Look at Taichiliberal's posts for an example of the latter.

BTW, just as poor but am older than you. Graduated 1978.

A perfectly reasonable reaction.

You saw something your mind could not interpret and consider it an unsolved mystery to this day.

That is a reasonable reaction.

I would be surprised if you immediately leaped to the conclusion it was an intergalatic spaceship piloted by aliens. You seem to level headed to jump to unsubstantiated conclusions like that.

Agreed. Taichi's evidence of extraterrestrial life is exactly the same as evidence of Sasquatch, Nessie, the Abominable Snowman and chupacabras.

Nessie and Sasquatch are outright frauds. Much to my chagrin.

I would be willing to say there might be enough eyewitness testimony for UFOs to tip the scales towards some sort of legitimate inquiries, if experts think it is warranted.

There are certainly people who perpetuate the myth fraudulently. Same for crop circles and haunted houses. Ghostbusters is bullshit.

My guess is that 8 times out of 10, there's humans involved. Mostly R&D. In some areas, intelligence gathering.

It is strange that a person claims they saw a UFO and another person who was not there presumes to tell them what they saw. It is not difficult to understand why they do not tell people.

I am of the mind that the UFO phenomena can ultimately be chalked up to plethora of fairly mundane reasons.

It is interesting that the vast majority of UFO sightings happen in USA, which has a culture and cottage industry of UFO fetishization.

....and that most of the abductions are with hillbillies in Alabama.

Agreed on mundane. There are possibilities, mainly time travelers, interdimensional beings or space aliens, but no evidence. Fox's "Alien Autopsy" notwithstanding.

A documentary special purporting to be an objective investigation into the authenticity of the film—dubbed Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction?—was so popular it aired on Fox three times, at one point attracting 11.7 million viewers to a single screening.” In TIME, Richard Corliss noted that on the nascent Internet, amateur UFOlogists studied the footage “with an intensity not lavished on any home movie since the Zapruder film.”

A renowned CIA scientist actually believed the hoax Roswell UFO crash alien autopsy video was real, a strange new memo alleges.

The Roswell footage was first unveiled in 1995 by British entrepreneur Ray Santilli, who said he discovered the mysterious reel of film by chance when attempting to obtain archive clips of Elvis Presley from a retired US military cameraman.

Santilli went on to sell the footage to hundreds of TV stations across 33 countries, allegedly making millions in the process.

It was the early 1980s,...back when I could still whore around a little.

Why would ANYONE believe me ? Anyone who knew back then knew I was a pathological liar.

Yes it was folly

Yep....sounds like pure folly to me too.

So, I gave a FACT regarding Vietnam and McNamara. Until he copped, the gov't NEVER admitted that the basis for our involvment was based on a lie....not even the Pentagon Papers (brought to us by a whistle blower and brave journalist). A matter of fact, a matter of history. Like UFO's, the people were pointing to evidence and such, the gov't denied it.

So once again, your "reasoning" has back fired on you due to your either genuine or willful ignorance of history.

Keep it coming, Dutch....you prove my post with each post.

LOL Dude, you're free to believe. I'm free to disbelieve in magical visitations from Space Aliens without single shred of evidence on or around Earth or our solar system.

God Bless America.

As the reader can clearly see, every time Dutch makes some type of declarative statement or an assertion that is factually and logically proven wrong...he just retreats in a parrot mode of attempted generalizations and attempted mockery.

Other right wingnut leaning posters have used the same tactic....after awhile, no one pays them much attention and eventually they just fade away or get banned for being persistent arrogant assholes. The chronology of the posts is always their undoing no matter how much they BS otherwise.

Carry on Dutch ... you just prove my points with each retort.

What else is there to talk about? You're the one who had conniption when I said there was zero evidence of space aliens. I'm still waiting for a shred of evidence. Funny lights in the sky aren't proof of anything other than an unexplained visual phenomena.

I've never found UFO's to be an entertaining subject. Most people who believe in them are entertained by the subject.

Not entertaining to the military who have to deal with these things, as I and others have shown. Or the people who have had their professional and personal credibility ruined by mis-information campaigns and skeptics. I for one, am not so much "entertained" by the constant BS of skeptics as I am annoyed at their denial of evidence, willful ignorance and insipid stubbornness.

You've done that dance already Dutch....you've got nothing but a childish need to have the last word. Go right ahead, you just keep proving your icon's description. See ya on the next thread.

Why hasn't President Biden declared a national emergency to handle this extraterrestrial threat?

Can you say "red meat from the disinformation campaign" for the willfully ignorant? see folks, they latch onto this but ignore all else...trying to color any and all UFO information with the same brush. Pathethic, but not unexpected.
